A creek channel was restored after urban development lead to sediment spills that caused habitat damage and flow alteration in the creek.

The intersection of nature and urban development is often difficult to navigate, and the results can be imperfect. Sometimes the skill and expertise of the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority’s restoration staff is needed to repair streams and other areas after accidents occur. That’s exactly what happened when TRCA staff helped restore a beautiful creek to its former glory in the Duffins Creek watershed in Durham Region, Ontario.
